Hi, I'm a Registered member of BACP, with 10 years of counselling and psychotherapy experiences, specialising in sexuality, gender and relationship diversity issues and adults' mental health problems, such as general anxiety disorder and depression. After practising as a Registered Psychologist for several years in Hong Kong, I decided to pursue further training and education in the UK. Currently, I'm a trainee counselling psychologist based in Bristol.
Originally from Hong Kong, and growing up in the UK and Canada during my adolescence and young adulthood, I have acquired a strong cultural sensitivity and openness to individual differences. Before I embarked on the journey in understanding human minds and behaviours, I had experienced a great deal of struggles in balancing between my own needs and the expectation of the wider society in terms of academic and career choices, until I became fully aware of my urge in pursuing a fulfilling and meaningful role that reflects me.
In my practice, I place a strong focus on diversity and inclusion. Since 2013, I have had extensive experiences in working with the LGBTQI+ community, in particular with people with gender dysphoria, and men who have sex with men that experienced substance use issues and/or sexual health concerns. In addition, I was the HK Representative (appointed by the HKPS) of International Psychology Network for LGBTI issues (APA) between June 2020 and Dec 2021. I also had substantial amount of experience in delivering group and individual sessions for children and adolescents with special educational needs and/or neurodiversity, including ADHD, autism, learning disability and mild to moderate intellectual disability, in various schools.
Over the past 2 years, I have been offering online/ in-person counselling sessions to individuals from different parts of the World, including France, Finland, Nigeria, Chile, Thailand, India, Korea, Japan, UAE, Singapore, Macau, Taiwan, and China. If your concerns are associated with your cultural/ ethnic background and the wider systems, I may be the right therapist for you.
**Sessions can be conducted in Cantonese, Mandarin and/or English.**
